2.4 ATA Hyperbaric Chamber: Verify Before Purchasing

The quotation lists “2.4 ATA,” which appears to be merely a pressure value, but discrepancies can easily arise during actual verification. Some people mix absolute pressure and gauge pressure together, and some people only write equipment "up to", but do not specify the normal working pressure, maximum allowable working pressure and pressure relief settings. In the face of 1 equipment called 2.4 ata hyperbaric chamber, don't rush to compare prices or appearances. The first thing is to take apart the pressure statement.

First convert 2.4 ATA to the same caliber

ATA refers to absolute pressure, with absolute vacuum as the zero point. 2.4 ATA is equivalent to 243.1 8千帕 absolute pressure, about 35.27 psia. Under standard sea level atmospheric pressure assumptions, it corresponds to about 141.8 6千帕 gauge pressure, which is about 20.57 psig. The atmospheric pressure of the site environment will change with the altitude and weather, so the actual absolute pressure and gauge pressure conversion should also use the local environmental pressure.

This set of conversion factors is suitable for verifying the consistency of quotations and specification sheets, but not for directly configuring equipment. If the data only reads "psi", the supplier should be asked to know whether it is psia or psig. If "2.4 atm" is written, it is also necessary to confirm whether it refers to 2.4 ATA absolute pressure or adding 2.4 atmospheres above ambient pressure. The two statements are not the same.

Don't treat the maximum value as your daily working value

The normal working pressure, the maximum allowable working pressure and the set pressure of the pressure relief device shall be listed separately 1 a comparable specification. "Can reach 2.4 ATA" only shows a possible upper limit, can not explain whether the equipment can operate at this 1 pressure for a long time, nor can it replace the pressure requirements in the specific use plan.

When reviewing technical documents, always present the pressure values together with the full model number, submodel number, and equipment configuration. The model numbers on the specification sheet, nameplate, instruction manual, and contract should correspond to one another. If another model of the same brand reaches a certain pressure, it cannot be automatically assumed that the equipment in the current quotation also has the same design and license scope.

Pressure values alone cannot determine the application

There is a clear distinction between clinical hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its common commercial name. The commonly used clinical hyperbaric oxygen pressure range is 2.0 to 3.0 ATA, but entering this value range does not automatically prove that a certain device meets the clinical hyperbaric oxygen requirements. Also continue to check the hardware pressure structure, breathing gas, intended use, applicable specifications, target market approval and professional management conditions.

Similarly, higher pressure does not necessarily mean it is more suitable, more effective, or safer for all users. The pressure a device can achieve and the solution that a particular user should adopt are two distinct issues. The latter cannot be deduced from the sales page or conversion table, and should be subject to specific model descriptions and professional requirements.

Consider the cabin as a system

When making purchases, don’t focus solely on the cabin shell. A complete system may also include pressurization and depressurization, ventilation, air or oxygen supply, control, monitoring, communications, and safety accessories. Vendor shall describe pressurized media, breathing gas, oxygen connections, venting methods, alarm and emergency pressure relief arrangements and provide documentation consistent with current configuration.

The venue also needs to be checked in advance. The internal available dimensions, cabin dimensions, equipment footprint and transport packaging dimensions shall be recorded separately; the net dimensions of the entrance, threshold, opening space, equipment weight, ground bearing, transport passage, power supply, ventilation, fire fighting and maintenance space will all affect the installation and continuous maintenance of the equipment. It is impossible to confirm these conditions based on a single product image alone.

Secure evidence in contracts and acceptance procedures

Before placing an order, let the official quotation, technical specifications, configuration list, label samples, instructions for use, installation conditions, maintenance plan and safety data point to the same manufacturer and complete model. Declarations involving pressure-bearing structures should also be checked against the standard version, certificate or mark holder, applicable model number, place of manufacture and valid range, rather than accepting a standard name or logo.

Upon arrival, verify the nameplate, serial number, packing list, and contract item by item. Pressure, pressure relief, ventilation, gas or oxygen supply, control, alarm, communication and emergency functions shall be accepted in accordance with the methods and acceptance standards specified for the model, and records of test conditions, instruments and results shall be left. In case of configuration discrepancies, missing files, leaks or alarms, non-conformities shall be recorded and restricted.

The final confirmation is not whether the "2.4" is conspicuous, but whether this value can be repeatedly verified in the same model, the same pressure caliber, the same configuration and a set of traceable documents.
