Researchers have found that a unique treatment regimen using hyperbaric oxygen in a pressure chamber reverses two major processes associated with aging and its diseases: the shortening of telomeres, protective regions located at the ends of each chromosome, and the accumulation of senescent cells.

The study looked at immune cells containing DNA obtained from the participants’ blood and found that telomeres were lengthened by up to 38 percent and reduced by up to 37 percent in the presence of senescent cells.
