2.0 hyperbaric chamber
Compare hard-shell chamber formats built around a maximum pressure specification of 2.0 ATA. Review single-person, 1–2 person and multi-person options, then define the layout, site conditions and documentation your project requires.

What 2.0 ATA Means in a Chamber Specification
2.0 ATA means two atmospheres absolute. It is about 29.4 psia, or about 14.7 psig above standard sea-level atmospheric pressure. Local atmospheric pressure changes with elevation and weather, so a site-specific gauge-pressure conversion should use the local ambient pressure.
A product page may use 2.0 ATA for the maximum available setting, the normal working pressure or a treatment setting. Those values are not interchangeable. Ask the supplier to identify the normal operating range, maximum allowable working pressure and pressure-relief set point separately.
Pressure alone does not establish a chamber’s intended use or U.S. regulatory status. The chamber structure, pressurizing medium, breathing gas, instructions for use, professional supervision and model-specific market authorization all affect whether a system matches a clinical or nonclinical project.
Choose by Position, Entry and Capacity
Start with the people and the operating workflow, then choose the shell format. The cataloged 2.0 ATA range includes horizontal hard-shell chambers, transparent horizontal chambers, a compact seated chamber, a single-person walk-in chamber and multi-person HE5000 configurations.
Horizontal single-user layouts
A horizontal chamber supports a reclining position and can reduce the room width required by a walk-in multi-seat unit. Compare usable internal length and diameter, entry height, transfer method and the space needed to open and service the chamber. A larger transparent section can improve visibility, but it does not replace verified internal dimensions or an emergency-access plan.
Seated and walk-in layouts
A seated chamber changes the transfer path, headroom and floor-space calculation. HE5000 Mono uses a transparent walk-in door for single-person access. HE5000 Fort uses a face-to-face multi-seat layout, while HE5000 can be configured with two seats, three seats, a bed platform or a bench. HE5000 Plus is the four-person option in the supplied catalog.
Capacity is a project specification
State the maximum number of occupants, the number of users served at one time, whether an attendant must be inside and the seating or bed arrangement. A label such as “two person” or “four person” does not show entrance clearance, usable interior space, rated occupancy or the position of breathing interfaces.

Single-Person 2.0 ATA Hard-Shell Chamber
The detail-page text describes a single-user rigid chamber with a 225 × 85 cm shell and instructs the user to lie flat. Its specification table lists an adjustable range of 1.1–2.0 ATA, while the same page’s Hero states 1.3–2.0 ATA. The quotation and technical sheet need to resolve that minimum-pressure discrepancy for the exact model offered.
- Pressure statements1.1–2.0 ATA in the specification table; 1.3–2.0 ATA in the Hero
- Listed capacityOne person
- Listed chamber dimensions88.6 in. long × 33.5 in. diameter (225 × 85 cm)
- Listed oxygen flow10 L/min
- Listed power supply110/220 V, 50/60 Hz
Image-to-page check: The supplied image shows an upright seated form, which does not match the reclining format described in the detail-page text. Ask the quotation provider to identify the exact model and confirm whether this image represents the offered configuration.

Image-to-page check: The supplied image shows a walk-in, two-seat form with a broad curved window, while the detail page lists a 2200 mm shell length and a 750–900 mm diameter. Ask the quotation provider to confirm the correspondence among the image, exact model and listed configuration.
Build a Specification Sheet You Can Compare
Two quotations are comparable only when they describe the same pressure basis, chamber configuration and supply boundary. Ask each supplier to complete the same fields.
| Specification field | What to record | Why it changes the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure basis | Normal operating range, maximum allowable working pressure, relief set point, ATA/psia/psig reference | Prevents a maximum setting from being compared with another model’s normal operating pressure |
| Chamber and system dimensions | Usable interior, shell exterior, installed footprint, service clearance and packed dimensions | Determines comfort, delivery access, room layout and freight planning |
| Occupancy and layout | Rated occupants, user positions, attendant position, seats, bench or bed platform | Connects stated capacity to the actual operating workflow |
| Entry and transfer | Clear opening, threshold, door swing, transfer height and emergency-access method | Reveals whether users and staff can enter, transfer and exit as planned |
| Pressurizing and breathing gases | Pressurizing medium, oxygen source, oxygen concentration, interfaces, flow rates and exhaust method | Defines the system architecture and the equipment included in the supply |
| Electrical and environmental inputs | Voltage, frequency, rated load, grounding, room temperature, ventilation and heat rejection | Shows whether the building can support the configured system |
| Monitoring and safety functions | Pressure monitoring, communications, alarms, emergency depressurization and operating controls | Identifies the controls and procedures that must be evaluated for the intended setting |
| Documentation | Model identifier, intended use, manuals, drawings, test records and target-market records | Ties every claim and document to the exact chamber being purchased |
Check the Site Before You Select a Chamber
Measure the complete delivery route from the unloading point to the final room. Record doorway clear widths and heights, elevators, ramps, stairways, turning radii and any thresholds. Compare those measurements with the packed dimensions and handling plan, not only the assembled chamber dimensions.
Confirm floor loading with the configured system weight and the building’s structural requirements. Large HE5000 configurations weigh hundreds of kilograms before project-specific accessories are considered, so a nominal room area does not establish that the floor or route is suitable.
Define the room utilities and operating environment before the quotation is finalized. The supplier needs the site voltage and frequency, available circuit capacity, grounding arrangement, ventilation, temperature and humidity range, fire-safety constraints, communications and maintenance clearances.
The room plan should also show operator position, observation lines, emergency access and the space needed to open the chamber and service its compressor, oxygen equipment and cooling components. If the site is at elevation, include the site elevation because ambient pressure affects gauge-pressure calculations.
Request a Quote on the Same Project Basis
Use the completed comparison sheet as the technical attachment to every quote request. This keeps the commercial responses tied to the same chamber specification and supply boundary.
Add the commercial and project inputs that are not already covered by the comparison sheet:
- Intended use and operating setting
- Destination country and state
- Selected product or exact model, if known
- Requested accessories, finish, control language and branding
- Quantity and requested delivery destination
Ask the quotation to identify the chamber, compressor, oxygen equipment, cooling system, controls, breathing interfaces, accessories, documentation, testing, packaging, freight and on-site work as separate included or excluded items. Request the warranty scope and lead time in writing for the quoted configuration.
Send Your Project RequirementsVerify the Exact Model and U.S. Market Documentation
For a U.S. project, match every regulatory and engineering document to the manufacturer and exact model on the quotation. The FDA product-classification database lists hyperbaric chambers under product code CBF as Class II devices; a pressure rating or a general company certificate does not establish model-specific 510(k) clearance.
Request the model’s intended-use statement, current FDA record where applicable, labeling and instructions for use. Confirm whether the record identifies the same manufacturer, model and configuration offered in the quotation. “FDA approved” and “510(k) cleared” are different terms and should not be treated as substitutes.
Also request the pressure-vessel design basis, applicable code and edition, inspection and test records, equipment markings, electrical information, fire-safety requirements, cleaning and maintenance instructions, operator requirements and emergency procedures. Review the documents with the professionals and authorities responsible for the intended facility before purchase.
