El tema es complejo: la PSIA incluye la presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica de referencia en la superficie terrestre (unos 14,7 PSI al nivel del mar), mientras que la PSIG simplemente representa la verdadera \u201cpresi\u00f3n adicional\u201d dentro de la c\u00e1mara de ox\u00edgeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por ejemplo, algunos fabricantes presumen de que sus equipos b\u00e1sicos pueden alcanzar \u201c18 PSI\u201d. Al o\u00edr esto, el comprador pens\u00f3 que hab\u00eda adquirido un equipo de grado m\u00e9dico de alta potencia. Pero, en realidad, se trata de 18 PSIA. Tras restar la presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica natural de 14,7 PSI, la presurizaci\u00f3n real en la cabina es de tan solo 3,3 PSIG, lo que, en el mejor de los casos, supone una experiencia de fisioterapia muy suave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El tratamiento cl\u00ednico profesional requiere datos de PSIG extremadamente precisos. Debe proporcionarse un compartimento de hardware de grado m\u00e9dico que funcione a 2,0 ATA y que cuente con una presi\u00f3n adicional considerable de 14,7 PSIG en su interior. La vida \u00fatil del equipo depende directamente de la matriz de seguridad V-P-M: la combinaci\u00f3n perfecta entre volumen (Volumen), presi\u00f3n (Presi\u00f3n) y material (Material). Las instituciones m\u00e9dicas deben recurrir a este entorno de alta presi\u00f3n a la hora de tratar casos graves, como la intoxicaci\u00f3n por mon\u00f3xido de carbono, la enfermedad por descompresi\u00f3n y el da\u00f1o tisular por radiaci\u00f3n. Cuando la presi\u00f3n alcanza los 29,4 PSI, la presi\u00f3n ambiental puede impulsar hasta 6,8 ml de ox\u00edgeno por cada 100 ml de sangre. Esto significa que los compradores de equipos deben centrarse en el \u201cn\u00famero de ciclos\u201d, en lugar de fijarse simplemente en el \u201ca\u00f1o de fabricaci\u00f3n\u201d del equipo. En la actualidad, el referente de todo el sector es la v\u00e1lvula reguladora de presi\u00f3n continua (CPMV) de dos etapas.<br>Las bombonas de ox\u00edgeno antiguas suelen tener \u00fanicamente una v\u00e1lvula de resorte. En caso de que el resorte se atasque debido a la humedad y el \u00f3xido, la presi\u00f3n en la cabina se descontrolar\u00e1 al instante y superar\u00e1 directamente el l\u00edmite estructural. Sin embargo, el \u00faltimo sistema CPMV de dos etapas cuenta con un \u201cdoble seguro\u201d: el primero es una v\u00e1lvula de alivio de presi\u00f3n puramente mec\u00e1nica, ajustada con precisi\u00f3n al valor m\u00e1ximo de PSIG; el segundo canal es un sensor electr\u00f3nico. En cuanto la presi\u00f3n supere el valor est\u00e1ndar en 0,5 PSI, se cortar\u00e1 al instante el suministro el\u00e9ctrico del compresor de ox\u00edgeno.
